Summer Hours

Summer hours run from June 29th - August 29th 2010

Due to the extreme heat this summer we often do not work the animals once the temperature reaches 30 + Our guests and the horses safety is our first priority. Please call or email ahead to avoid disappointment. We are a working ranch so are not always by the phone - feel free to email questions and we can respond to you after hours.  Thanks we appreciate it!

Weekday mornings are reserved exclusively for the Otonobee YCAMP and for Camps Canada - Children participate in a beginner level riding camp here at the Ranch from 9:30 until noon Monday though Friday.

Weekdays - Pony Rides are available from 1pm - 5pm and are on a first come first serve basis for children between the ages of 1 - 10 - parents must fill in a riding waiver in order for children to participate (it can be downloaded at the bottom of the rates and hours page - family riding waiver) Flip flops are not permitted.  You may bring your own bicycle or riding helmets.  We do have helmets available at the ranch if you forget yours.

Weekday Trail rides are available at 2pm and 4pm on a first come first serve basis.  If you would like an evening ride send us a booking request.

Weekend Trail Rides are available on a first come first serve basis - They run at 10am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3pm and a 4pm trail will run if you are here no later than 3:30 to sign in for the trail ride - if you are late you are out of luck.  If the trail ride is at 10am that means the horses are leaving the yard at 10am.  We need you here 1/2 an hour early for sign in and set up for each trail ride.  Thanks for your co-operation!

If the temperature is 30+ we do not work the horses or ponies - email to set up an evening trail ride if you would like.  Children must be 11 years and older to participate on the trail rides.  We take beginner riders all the time and if you are experienced  we even walk, trot and canter.   Trail guides are a mandatory requirement for your safety as well as the safety of our animals. The proper attire would be long pants and boots or shoes with a 1/2" heel.  No flip flops or flat tennis shoes!  There is alot of wildlife on the move on the trails - we are seeing deer, wild turkey's, rabbitts and porcupines.

No time spent in the saddle is wasted time - come on out and enjoy nature!
